Most of the high schools in the Challenge Success program list the college application process as a root cause of stress for their students. This paper is an attempt to address the stress surrounding this process and clear up some common misconceptions. We know that many students are advised to find the “right fit” college, but in our experience, students do not necessarily know how to follow that advice, and many become consumed with the idea that they need to be admitted to a “selective” college regardless of fit. At the luncheon, we’ll explore: What do college rankings really measure? What is the relationship between college selectivity and student outcomes? And what does all of this mean for the high school experience?
*Preferred seating for table of 10 people
*Personalized host gift
*Bound copy of new College Admissions White Paper for all table guests
I am unable to attend the Fall Luncheon, but wish to support the work of Challenge Success.

Please note that while we are affiliated with Stanford University’s Graduate School of Education, we receive no direct funding from Stanford, and the education reform efforts that we promote are often overlooked by common funding mechanisms such as foundation grants. In fact, nearly 50% of our operating budget is met through individual donations, and as such, we are extremely grateful for this support.
