Remote Learning Offerings

Student engagement and well-being have become even more urgent and challenging in remote learning environments.  Below, we include practical, research-based offerings that schools are telling us they need most right now.  Every offering below is geared toward teaching in a remote/hybrid learning environment and is also applicable to in-person teaching. We warmly welcome your interest and inquiries! They are available for K-12 schools or districts, not for individual educator sign-up

Please note, our Professional Development workshops are designed to be 90 minutes, yet can be adjusted to 60-120 minutes per your needs.

In this session, you’ll interact with an array of pedagogical tools designed to engage students in deep, meaningful learning, whether online or off. Inquire here.

ADAPTING CURRICULA FOR STUDENT IDENTITIES
Length: 60-120 min   •   Type: Department/PLC Workshop   •   Audience: K-12 educators   •   Price: $1,700* per event

Assessment

RETHINKING ASSESSMENT
Length: 60-120 min   •   Type: Professional Development Workshop   •   Audience: K-12 educators   •   Price: $1,700* per event

How do you know when your students full grasp the material you are teaching? How do you encourage more authentic learning experiences while minimizing grade-grubbing and cheating? This interactive workshop reviews the “backwards design” process and focuses on multiple assessment strategies that allow students to demonstrate what they know. Inquire here.

PERFORMANCE ASSESSMENT IN REMOTE OR HYBRID ENVIRONMENTS
Length: 60-120 min   •   Type: Department/PLC Workshop   •   Audience: K-12 educators   •   Price: $1,700* per event

Traditional tests are limited in what they assess, and they rarely translate to remote and hybrid learning environments. In this workshop, participants will explore the elements of effective performance assessment design and will leave with a student centered performance assessment for an upcoming unit of study. Inquire here.

GRAB & GO: STRATEGIES FOR ASSESSING REMOTE AND FACE-TO-FACE LEARNING
Length: 60-120 min   •   Type: Professional Development Workshop   •   Audience: K-12 educators   •   Price: $1,700* per event

Assessment practices are often optimized to justify grades and cajole students into doing their work, not as a way of deepening the learning process for the student and teacher alike. In this session, participants will reconsider how an approach that values assessment-for-learning translates into easily implementable classroom strategies.  Inquire here.

Participants will leave with practical strategies for building connections with and between students synchronously, asynchronously, with a particular eye towards students that may be hardest to reach.
